Fashion Month is a significant time on any fashion lover’s calendar, and February’s A/W ’24 shows were particularly special for Rosamund Muir.

What is fashion month, and when does it take place?
Fashion Month typically occurs twice a year, in February and September.
Fashion Month focuses mainly on women’s ready-to-wear collections. Designers typically showcase their collections a season ahead, with Autumn-Winter shows taking place in February and Spring-Summer shows in September.
Men’s ready-to-wear collections are typically showcased in the weeks preceding fashion month (January and August). Then, Haute Couture collections have dedicated weeks in the fashion calendar, where designers are invited to come and showcase their more elaborate collections and designs.
There are shows dedicated to Bridal Fashion and Resort Wear, which also occur outside of Fashion Month.
Although fashion weeks worldwide occur at different times of the year, the four dedicated locations for Fashion Month are New York, London, Milan and Paris.
When is New York Fashion Week?
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is the first of the four major fashion weeks. It typically occurs at the beginning of February and September and takes place in Manhattan, although smaller shows are sometimes held in neighbouring boroughs.
NYFW is an action-packed schedule that showcases established designers and future talents from around the world. The announcement of dates for New York Fashion Week is often heavily anticipated to kick off the fashion calendar.
Established NYFW designers include Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Tom Ford, Michael Kors and Oscar de La Renta.
When is London Fashion Week?
London Fashion Week (LFW) directly follows New York, and while you can expect established labels such as Burberry and Vivienne Westwood to showcase, it’s also known as a springboard for up-and-coming designers and young talent, thanks to its support from the British Fashion Council.
At London Fashion Week, many events take place at 180 The Strand in Covent Garden alongside numerous pop-up shows around the city. LFW is a big part of the British calendar, with much buzz and excitement running through the city during fashion week, supported by some of the city’s larger department stores, such as Harrods and Selfridges.
London Fashion Week 2024 saw Rosamund Muir shoes featured on the catwalk of an Autumn/Winter 2024 collection from an up-and-coming designer. When is Milan Fashion Week?
Milan Fashion Week (MFW) follows directly from London and occurs in and around Milan’s historic centre. Some huge names in luxury Italian fashion, including Gucci, Prada, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana, showcase their collections there. However, you can still expect some emerging designers to feature alongside the big names.
Alongside Milan Fashion Week, Milan hosts MICAM, Milano in February and September. MICAM is the fashion industry’s leading international footwear trade fair, showcasing over 1000 stylish footwear brands under one roof.
Rosamund Muir shoes were part of this February’s MICAM trade show, a great opportunity to showcase the brand and highlight the importance of sustainable footwear in the luxury sector.
